Oral Sedation - This is a cost effective alternative to I.V. Sedation, yet highly effective in controlling discomfort and anxiety. In an easy-to-swallow pill form, oral sedation is typically used for many routine dental procedures in our office.
About Oral Sedation
It works safely.
You swallow a small pill prior to treatment. No needles are used.
You snooze through your appointment. Treatment normally requiring 6-8 visits can often be done in one visit.
People who have had difficulty getting numb in the past typically experience no problem when relaxed to this extent.
After you return home, you will feel
refreshed and back to normal within several hours.
I.V. Sedation - If a maximal level of sedation is desired or needed, Dr. Singer can incorporate I.V. Sedation into your treatment through team members who are specially trained and certified.
Also known as "twilight sleep", this option normally eliminates all discomfort and memory of dental procedures.
About I.V. Sedation
Places you in a "twilight sleep"
Administered through an intravenous (in the vein) drip by trained and certified personnel
Your vital signs are monitored throughout treatment.
While you sleep, an experienced team will care for your dental needs.
You will have no memory of the procedure afterwards.
After treatment, you will return home to relax for the remainder of the day. You should be able to resume normal activities within 24 hours.
